On October 10, 2025, the Scientific Seminar with International Participation entitled “The State and Use of Water Supply and Sanitation Systems in the Southern Region of the Republic of Moldova under Current Environmental Changes” was held at the Institute of Ecology and Geography of the State University of Moldova.
The seminar took place in a hybrid format, bringing together researchers, environmental specialists, representatives of the academic community, the Ministry of Environment, the National Administration “Apele Moldovei,” the South Regional Development Agency, as well as local public authorities from the southern part of the country. The event was honored by greeting messages from representatives of central and regional environmental institutions, who emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation and scientific research for the sustainable management of water resources in the context of climate change.
The event was organized as part of the Sub-Programme 010801 “Enhancing the Ecological Security and Resilience of Geo-Ecosystems to Current Environmental Changes” (2024–2027), in accordance with the research activities planned for 2025, reflecting the joint commitment of the participating institutions to environmental protection and sustainable regional development.
The participants underlined the need to strengthen cooperation between research institutions, central and regional public authorities, and international partners in order to develop sustainable solutions for the protection and efficient use of water resources.
